Re: TMAU Hopefully Getting Better
Hi FeelingBlue,
I'm sorry to hear that you're still struggling with your malodor. The key is to do the whole treatment at the same time and to not give up when your body smells more than usual as it cleanses itself out. One or 2 supplements alone will not work.
Have you been tested for TMAU? The reason I ask is because that would determine which protocol to follow because it varies depending on the cause of your BO. If you have one cause but do the treatment plan of another cause of BO, then it won't work.
For info on other posts I’ve written on skin cleansers and pH, see

I couldn't over-emphasize the tremendous importance of doing a thorough cleaning of your intestines as recommended by the National Institute of Health under the "What treatment is available for trimethylaminuria" section of http://rarediseases.info.nih.gov/GARD/QnA.aspx?PageID=4&CaseID=20839&...

I do see that you’ve done substantial cleansing already. NIH recommends an initial antibiotic treatment to reduce the amount of bacteria in the gut to suppress the production of trimethylamine. Afterwards, the Trimethylaminuria Foundation (contact them for more info at TheTFnetwk@aol.com ) recommends the use of probiotics. Right before you take the antibiotics, do a thorough intestinal cleansing with Lactulose (prescr*iption), or any other intestinal cleanser, and then do the antibiotic treatment.
Remember that the smelly toxins are in your whole body, bloodborne, and even after you cleanse your intestines, your body still has to get rid of the toxins through your skin and breath. Give you body a chance to do so, stay with the diet, repeat the intestinal cleansing every 2 to 4 weeks as needed (without the antibiotics) and in a few months, you should begin to see improvement.
Your diet is very important. Try the low choline and the low meat protein diets while you do this for a few months. Take the prescribed amount of supplements found in this website. and you can continue using lower doses of charcoal and chloropyllin afterward as needed.
Another alternative cause of BO other than TMAU could be your inability to metabolize proteins. Go to my blog http://mpdela.blogspot.com/ and got to the Search posts through labels, and click on protein, you will find 3 articles that discuss another case of metabolic disorder, and that has to do with the poor metabolism of proteins. There are other yet undiagnosed causes, but I couldn't tell you. All the information I have is in the blog.
I wish you well in this endeavor.
