Re: Stiff Neck with Metallic Taste tied to the neck/shoulder tension.

Any added metal in your mouth alongside Amalgam fillings can be disastrous. It creates a galvanic response (battery like effect) which encourages further release and uptake of toxic metal/mercury from your amalgams. Other metals can cause allergic responses too. I had big big problems once I had braces placed on my teeth at age 15. That's when I really became chronically sick and mercury toxic and even though the braces were eventually removed, I never recovered and remained mercury toxic from then on. i guess that was the last straw that made me vulnerable and unable to get back up again.

Some people can go years and be just fine with Amalgams and sometimes it only takes an extra health challenge or two and they can wind up becoming suseptible to the amalgams, or suseptible to the years of build up of mercury that was already going on, but not noticed as such. It is an insidious chronic poisoning, which is why people don't often notice what's happening until it gets really bad.

Metallic taste is one sign of a possible metal exposure (or detox). You maybe wise to go through with a safe/protected Amalgam removal procedure. But make sure you are well protected during the removal, as you can get much worse if you're not. Acute exposure to mercury vapor is one of the dangers of removing them!

You would also be wise to find out whether the dentist uses biocompatible replacement materials, ones that have been shown to be fit for most people. Or preferably, get tested for them. There are various ways to test - blood serum testing, Voll testing (EAV), muscle testing, cheek and gum testing (get a hardened sample of materials and try them in your mouth to see if there is any reaction) etc. Sometimes good to get more than one test too and find out which materials come up best.

Diet is essential to help healing. Elimination all forms of junkfood, sugar, wheat/gluten, seafood, yeast, coffee, milk etc. This reduces any yeast overgrowth that may have resulted from a toxic system and lowered immunity and helps eliminate toxins at the sametime. Taking onboard good foods like free range eggs (for protein), meats (protein), vegetables, non gluten grain (if you can handle the carbohydrates), yoghurt (acidophilus plain Sugar free), seeds, nuts etc. If you can handle fruit, that should be ok too in limited quantities, but be careful if you have a bad candida problem. If fruit is a problem, eliminate it (temporary at least until you can handle the natural sugars and that goes for potatoes and corn etc, as they are healthy, they are still high in carbs - natural sugars).

Please check out candida online, it is very much a problem for mercury toxic people, which is why we often suffer multiple problems at once. It can cause many of the symptoms a mercury toxic person is suffering. REducing it can help a person feel a lot better. But it can take a few weeks to improve. Initially some feel worse as toxins are loosened and eliminated. Some metal may also be eliminated as a result of the improved diet.

This is a good preparation for Amalgam removal too. A biologic dentist here in my country insists on a candida diet for his mercury toxic patients before they even have their Amalgams removed. If they refuse, he will not do the removal. He said if they are not prepared physically, they can get much worse. This is part of the preparation.

Supplements that can help are vitamin C (powder form best with bioflavanoids), vitamin E, selenium, fish oil (mercury free brand), zinc, magnesium/calcium in equal ratios, B complex and/or a multi vitamin/mineral supplement. Vitamin A and D can be gotten from halibut oil or cod liver oil, but make sure it's a mercury tested/mercury free brand.

Butter is excellent. Very healing and Dr Hal Huggins recommends mercury toxic people have enough butter in their diet and salt too (believe it or not). Proteins, animal fats and enough salt is what he recommends with the elimination of sea food, caffeine (coffee especially), elimination of milk, wheat/gluten, etc. Caffeine can interfere with detoxing mercury, as can milk. Caffeine also strains adrenal glands. Wheat apparently is treated with mercury fungicide, but also contains gluten, which can be a nightmare for some people.

It is very important. For some people, even small amounts of some of those foods can be devastating and can keep a toxic condition chronic. Elimination of these things COMPLETELY with no cheating, can then start a process of healing. It is really that important. Even a trial of it is a good idea, just to check your response and see if you get a detoxification from this alone!

Some people who are less toxic, maybe able to handle a looser diet, others cannot.

I hope this is of some help to you in the meantime.
