Re: No animals dont fear.

I do not know about lions, but I care for
a little bit bull from Puerto Rico who
was brought home by my friends from a trip
specifically because she was the one who
no one else wanted. Her mother had been
killed by a car and she was one of the pups
it took 3 days for people to catch. It seems
that she is hardwired by her DNA so that
the message her mother passed to her was
"never let a human touch you". I have
had her 5 years and of course have never
raised my voice or hand to her, and yet
still, she will not eat if you are anywhere
near her. I am the only one still who she
will come to consistently, and on a bad day
she is still not sure about me. For the
most part, all human touch is difficult for
her. She tolerates me but only until her
programming kicks in and she is unable to
get past it. Nor has all the security and
years of the kindest treatment overridden
it either.

I can also say with a good degree of certainty
that if an animal is in pain, they will bite
you. It does not matter how much they are
bonded to you, they are afraid of being hurt.

When all heck lets loose in a storm, one of
our dogs does become fearful and is only
comforted by allowing him to sleep next to
my bed. He will bark and howl if he is alone
and a storm is raging. If that is not fear,
I would be curious to know what it is....

As far as humans go, I have prepared for hurricanes
and do not consider I am motivated by fear so much
as wanting to have the peace of mind of knowing
that I am prepared.

best wishes,
