Five dollar gas looks good to me!

The only way to stop the choking of planet earth and its inhabitants is to eliminate the internal combustion engine.
Higher prices for gas and diesel is the only way to get there.
They haven't yet been high enough or continued to rise fast enough for this to happen.
I hope were getting there.
Every time prices go up for a period of time people start buying more efficient cars and shun the guzzlers.
When prices are high and people look to economical vehicles, manufacturers take notice.
Prices have not been high enough, long enough to stop people from buying SUV's.
If people didn't buy them, manufacturers wouldn't produce them.
When prices are high enough more money will be spent on alternative methods of propelling vehicles.
I personally think an all electric vehicle charged at home by energy generated from solar panels atop of the house would be ideal.
A company called Tesla in just now making such a vehicle.
Who knows, maybe someone has already figured out how to harness the energy in plain old water. That would be an Ideal propellant too.
We will see none of these things in mass production as long as prices stay low as they have been.
I don't like paying for that gas stuff either, but I would sure like to see an alternative replace it in my lifetime.
Were all going to be coming back to this place again and again, and hopefully it won't be into such a polluted mess.
When the last bit of pollutant is emitted into our atmosphere it will take planet Earth fifty years to clean itself up by natural means. Tweet
