Hi Diana...I just wanted to say I read your post and tried saying the statement
below...and I can't even begin to tell you what a difference it made. I also
did it with exercise. I can usually stick to a diet for a few days, never long enough to lose any weight... but I just couldn't seem to make myself take the time
to 'walk'. So I turned it around to apply to exercise, too:
"I am in control of whether or not I walk today, of how far and long I walk, and
when I walk."
I immediately began walking 20 minutes in the morning and 10 minutes in the evening...had I added a good healthy Diet with my walking...I probably would
have dropped several pounds...but I begin putting them together today.
When I would begin getting tired of walking and feeling like I should be working
on my chores...I'd just tell myself, "Now "I" am in control of whether or not I
keep walking...I am retired and in no rush...if I don't do this today...I have
no one to blame but myself."
I'll admit...walking in the evening was harder for me. But only because we put
in such long hours on the farm...and 2 evenings a week we're in church...and I
just didn't make myself walk as long as I should have...but I'm going to even
work on that beginning today.
Thanks so much, Diana, for your post!
Love and Blessings
