Re: AND...9 more flukes!
I thought of you with your microscope Shroom...they got flushed after I messed with them for a while, they grossed my husband out just for him to look at in the jar. I didn't cut into them, but that's what they looked like to me, they weren't flat- they were "chunky", spongy texture. The pictures don't show it very good, but when I put them in water for a little while, the outside skin layer showed up, and they were light colored. That's what they looked like to me, like they were rolled into themselves. Ugly. I am not a mushroom fan to begin with, but that's kind of what they reminded me of- the roundish/tan mushrooms...but they weren't perfectly round. I've gotten these before, but it was some time ago, and at that time they reminded me of chunks of boneless, skinless chicken chunks I was cooking--same kind of spongy feel when you pushed down on them with a spoon. Made me not want to eat chicken chunks again for a while.
I don't know how I could save one for you to look at under the microscope, (?) but I don't want to personally look that close :( Same with the tape worm head I saved in the jar and flushed...the ones on the internet convinced me that I really didn't want to see it for myself up close.
I'd like to know what the sheep fluke Newport passed recently looked like too.
