What good are they anyway?

Mods used to get emails for every alert that was ever sent out.  There were also emails that were sent out to all mods anytime someone was banned and for various other things.   This kept everyone informed on the moderating team and gave a chance to the first mod online who would see the alerts to get to the problem.

At this point in time, I have no idea who is actually receiving the alerts and there is no emais sent out for other operations. 

So my question is, if everyone isn't receiving alerts and status messages, which allow all mods to know what's going on as well as take care of things rapidly, what good are the alert buttons, even if and when they show up??

Perhaps someone else can enlighten me.
