Oops, have not seen your post until now. Hopefully
you will be checking back...ggg...

Yes, Tampico is my favorite brand personally. It is
a cactus bristle brush. I also have other brushes in
my collection that are natural bristles that I have
found over the years. My criteria is if it feels
good. Often you start out with a softer brush and
now I can handle a stiffer one easily.

The brush I bought for my friend was an Elemis.
They are more costly but she was someone who used
Elemis products and this was a gift. It is the same
bristle like a Tampico, but with a more famous brand
name on it. I also have a Body Shop cactus bristle
brush which I like but the handle does not detach.
