What made me fat? Society. Because of the ridiculous crap put out by the media, as a young teen weighing just 135 pounds, I was sure that I was HUGE. Doctors told me to "lose weight" for my "health." So, I went on the following diets:
-Aids- the appetite suppressant of the 70s
-Grapefruit diet- caused appendicitis
-Scarsdale- Lost 20 pounds in 2 weeks.
-Physician's Weight loss- lost all the weight but ended up in the hospital w/ gall bladder problems.
-Vegetable soup diet
All of them were caused me to lose weight. Then, I'd regain plus more. So, every diet ultimately put 20+ extra pounds on me.
Now, my metabolism is shot, but that's okay because I decided to change my mind instead of my body. NO MORE DIETING EVER!! I strive to eat healthy and for me that is high protein and lower carb due to being diabetic. And to drink a lot of water and move more. I don't always succeed in my healthy plan, but it's not to lose weight. It's simply to assist in blood Sugar regulation and to have stronger muscles.
I'm for size acceptance and shifting the focus from limiting quantities of food to eating as much as you want of HEALTHY food and moving our bodies for the health of it regardless of size.
As for emotional eating- yes, I do that. It works and is better than taking drugs, I think : )
