Re: It would help

I dont understand why people here have to sometimes get soooo pushy about their opinion. Like they have seen the world and a 23 year old knows nothing. Maybe you guys judge yourself before you judge sugarlily. She has made all the right steps in a very adult fashion. She has adressed the problem, she has confided in family and she is well aware that this guy needs to straighten himself out or she will leave (she has even said that). So why won't you get off her back? Indeed life is not as black and white as you make it out to be (even though thats sometimes so nice and easy to think) - if you look beyond it- it is so very different for each one of us. She is a clever person who has shown that her instinct has lead her to do the right things - if her instinct tells her this guy can make it and is worth the effort then why not support him? At least give him the chance. Maybe it shatters your picture of your black and white world but I have actually had a friend who had drinking problems at the age of 22. He did serious work on himself and counseling and has never touched anything again. The girl he was with is his wife now and they have children.....That was ten years ago.....so please if you think you know the truth dont be so pushy on someone who might not want to blindly follow your advice.
