I'm loving the ayurvedic diet so far. I'm new to it specifically, but the diet changes I've been doing for a while and I think they've made the biggest difference. The basics for them are the same. My constitution is similar to yours. Vata-imbalance with pitta fire in there. I've still been leaving them as alone as I can. I peel only what's completely loose, very slowly and carefully with tweezers. It is never hard to peel. Never raw underneath. And it's not my whole lip any more. Just specific parts. The kukicha tea you can get at a healthy food store. It's great. Kinda tastes a little like coffee.
You can find out alot of info on ayurveda on the web. Just search for a test to determine your type. When you see all the characteristics in your type you will probably snicker, because they are usually pretty dead on. I recommend a book called "Ayurveda: A Life of Balance" It's awesome. It will help you determine your type, tell you exactly the foods you can eat and the things you can do to balance your type. Very cool.
