I think you're right on the money with the acid problem. Too much heat in the guts I say. All of those foods you decribed are very heating too (peppers, eggs, certain fruits). The green tea is also fairly acidic believe it or not. Try kukicha twig tea. It is great for cooling and it's slightly alkaline. Check out a book on ayurvedic nutrition. Find out your body type, (mine is vata), and start eating for your type. This brings your body into balance. I'm betting most of us are vata types but I'm sure there are Kaphas and Pittas in here too. Vatas are very dry. They need to eat moisturizing, oily type of foods most. Very interesting system of medicine. There are also lots of medical herbs to help bring you back in line. Chinese medicine is cool too but I like the body type diet here. I've been doing macrobiotic lately, but I'm incorporating alot of the ayurvedic diet stuff in too.
