Re: Soulfulsurvivor OFF TOPIC

You're absolutely correct that I have a near-obsession with NPD. As a Survivor of an abusive NPD and a former counselor for battered women, NPD seems to be a personality disorder that is manifesting more and more, particularly with Gen X and after. This is not to say that all abusive people are NPD or that all NPD people are abusive.

I don't have a "disagreement" with Rygar, by any stretch of the imagination. I am concerned - deeply concerned if his posts are, indeed, truthful with regard to his views, choices, and beliefs. If you take notice, I suggested that he look into NPD and didn't suggest that he was, in fact, NPD - I am not qualified to make such a diagnosis. Many, many people exhibit NPD traits and each and every human being is, to some degree, narcissistic.

If the original poster's messages are, in fact, truthful, there is a certain degree of objectification, self-loathing, and dehumanization that is prevalent in the written messages. This applies ONLY if the messages are truthful and not a method to gain attention or start an online debate. Some members at Curezone.com have been known to deliberately post inflammatory messages for their own entertainment. As you, yourself, have echoed previous suggestions, Rygar would most likely benefit from individual counseling, strict nutrition adjustments, and behavior modification techniques.

Other than that, you are 100% correct that I have a deep concern about NPD.

Best wishes.
