There seems to be some disagreement about it among experts. It stands Fructooligosacharide (don't quote my spelling). It's a type of low calorie sweetener. Friendly bacteria apparently love it, but they weren't "designed" for this product, so the result of them eating it and replicating is not well known. Also, there is some belief that candida likes it too. I seemed to get worse when I was using one, which caused me to look up what FOS stood for, after which I found out about the disagreements over this. It falls into the "just in case" list.
