Shiatsu Massagers

Hi Doc Sutter,

My husband bought me, as an early Christmas present, one of those shiatzu Massaging cushions yesterday. It says it is true shiatsu massage, and also does a rolling movement up and down spine, as a seperate movement, which is supposed to stretch muscles out.

I used it yesterday evening and it was very intense, i was quite worried that it may be to powerful, and i would suffer later for using it. I'm okay today though.

What are your views on using something like this? I'm scared of doing further damage, and i still have the option of returning this if not suitable. Is this sort of device wise to use in your opinion? Interestingly, i don't feel it so intense in lower back, and that is probably to do with the curvature i have.

I know it can not replace proper adjustments etc, but it certainly got out the knots and tension, but wondering if a more gentlier type of massager might be better.
Thanks
