Gas, Oily Face & Hair, Skinny - pH Question
Hi all.
I’m new here, and I’m 99% sure I have Candida.
PLEASE SKIP TO THE LAST PARAGRAPH IF YOU JUST WANT TO KNOW MY QUESTION.
I’ve had a thin white coat on my tongue my whole life; no matter what I eat, or how much I eat, I never put on any weight; I’ve had oily hair my whole life, and oily skin on my nose and cheeks for the last 6 years, and worst of all I’ve had chronic gas for the last 4 years – not just bloating, but permanent gas. It’s as if there’s a weight sitting in my stomach. I can burp it all out, but it just builds up again almost immediately.
I visited a few doctors and they were perfectly useless. I ended up trying different food-allergy diets. The lactose diet had no effect; the gluten diet had no effect, but the Candida diet... well, I had never felt so famished in my entire life. I could polish off two whole roast chickens complete with a large helping of vegetables and still feel hungry. I knew something was up, so I started buying Candida treatments. I tried (deep breath) Threelac, Fivelac, Candidol, grapefruit seed extract, olive leaf extract, garlic and pau d’arco all to no avail.
The only thing I found that worked was coconut oil. I used to drink a small bowl of it every other day. After drinking it, I would experience the symptoms of the infamous “die off” – nausea, fatigue, aching joints and diarrhea. Every time I defecated, it came out green in color, and my stomach slackened just a little – it was like an invisible girdle was being loosened. It should have been a success story, but for all the “die off” symptoms I had, the Candida never actually died off and after about 8 months (and a whole lot of coconut oil) I gave up. The top part of my stomach slackened and got bigger, but around my crotch it stayed tight/compacted (sorry for the visual). I’ve read that coconut oil is absorbed very quickly once it’s ingested, so my theory is that it only ever made it so far in my intestinal tract and the last part, nearest the bottom of my torso, is still packed with yeast. I’ve recently discovered that you can by enteric-coated caprylic acid capsules (I don’t know how they've eluded me for so long). They don’t sell them in stores where I live, so I waiting on an internet order. If they turn out to be my panacea, I’ll let you know.
QUESTION:
I’ve read posts on here about the importance of alkaline/acid levels. In some instances they directly contradict each other. I just want to know if I should alkalize or acidify. I tried the Moreless drink (just once) and it had no effect, so I decided to go the other way. I am able to down a whole glass of apple cider vinegar and a handful of Betaine Hydrochloric Acid tablets (seriously, like 6 of ’em) WITHOUT FEELING ANY BURNING SENSATION IN MY STOMACH WHATSOEVER and without really aggravating the gas. Is this a clue that I need to up my acidity? I’d appreciate it if someone could point me in the right direction. I don’t want to spend the next few months alkalizing my system, only to find that I should have been acidifying it (or vice versa).
Thanks for your time and expertise.
