I was just recently diagnosed with Charcot marie tooth disease. I am new to this site. I have had 5 operations on my left foot, and 4 on my right. I just had surgery, and I am home now with a cast on. I was told all my life it was pes cavus. This is true, but now I know that I have CMT.
My mom suffers from Dupytren's contracture...in her hands... she is 74 and has had laser, but it keeps coming back. My grandmother had severe crippling arthritis. I am a musician..violinist and pianist. I sometimes feel some aches in my hands.
I am a vegetarian. I am thinking of going vegan. The raw diet is a good thing, and I know it cures cancer. Do you think it will my condition.. anyways, I am willing to try whatever God guides me to. I was very interested in the liver cleanse. Do you think this will help? I am 41 years old.The Doctor says my case is mild, however, I want to do something now before it gets worse, and I am tired of the feet problems and bad balance etc...My muscles and nerves need help. I have the symptoms of CMT. I can walk, and I have tried to climb mountains. I need to excercise more..it's my downfall. I also think I need to cut out dairy, and sugar. My joints...I think are a bit acidic...I don't drink enough water I know. Anways, I am interested in all the health tips that you may have. Did you have gene duplication? Did you have surgeries? I have slight scoliosis also, high arches in feet, and poor balance. They tested my nerve responses in my legs and arms just recently, and to my surprise they said it was bad. I want to keep it from going worse, so I think I will take the Vit C, that I heard keeps mice with CMT getting worse.Do you think Essiac will help, how about pycnogenol? I think these anti oxidants may help? Why the liver cleanse? What are you doing in your life to keep from getting worse? Are you vegan? Do you only eat raw? ...please give me advise...of course I know the greatest source of help is God.
I am a Christian, and I know God loves me and wants to help me...but He wants me to also do my part in the health...so I am willing...My Grandmother is not living anymore, but my mother with the Dupyentren's contract is...what can help her please?
I asked the Dr. if her problem is due to CMT..he thought it was also. Apparently in the family, members can display different effects.
