Re: Getting well

MuchBetter, Well, since you did not address me when replying that you did not mean to suggest that MCS was only a psychological disorder and lashed out at me as if my anger is a bad thing, I am posting these experts' statements explaining that all anger is not "bad".

"Ideally, good anger was a sense given to an individual as a tool to condemn injustice and help build relationships. In pure form, anger is an emotional signal that alerts a person that something needs to be changed. It obviously was intended to be a positive motivator to be used in giving one another feedback about how life can be lived more productively. Unhealthy behavior must be understood and realized that it has consequences. Unhealthy behavior can be changed... it must be changed, or there can be no hope for a healthier society in the future. To do nothing but complain will surely leave people unprepared to respond to the challenges the future will bring.

Anger can cause conflict and conflict is a normal part of relationships.
Anger can provide an opportunity for a better understanding of another person.
When someone cares enough to take the time to resolve a conflict, that person demonstrates caring. Conflicts can occur because of the differences between individuals. Relationships do not have to be destroyed because of those differences. Rather, recognizing the differences and viewing them in mature, responsible, positive ways instead of being fearful or unwilling to work through differences gives credence to the positive side of anger. Every person must learn to recognize the positive and negative effects of anger. Few people take the time to observe their actions when under stress or when their behavior is openly challenged. "

" Being angry is a necessary emotion and reaction. As with many emotions God has given us, it is used to accomplish something. "

From Me:
I am not resentful that MuchBetter is better, I said I was glad didn't I? I sincerely meant that! I am better than when I first got sick also, but to suggest that MCS is all psychological and has only been cured by psychological therapies is not acknowledging that the whole person needs to be addressed.

By the way, just like all human beings, I do get angry. The kind of angry I get is the same kind as Christ was when he threw the moneychangers out of the temple for ripping the people off. The kind of anger that pushes me to hopefully spur people to think for themselves and to take action where their health is concerned. Things do need to change when manufacturers can take an otherwise harmless statement like "I get to use and expose myself to these products now and I am okay" which actually furthers the manufacturers own moneymaking agenda. At the same time they are insinuating that something must be mentally wrong with a person who has MCS, since they can't tolerate their products, so they should seek help only from a psychiatrist or psychologist because theirs are the only therapies that cure MCS, when in fact these manufacturers themselves state the adverse physical health effects and even death these products can cause - especially to that 10% of the people who cannot metabolize them due to genetics - but people just don't heed the warnings.
