VERY Important Iodine Information...(+ tiny edit)
...from this post below:

(I'm reposting the link above because I think there are a LOT of CZers that might miss some very important information about IP6, Iron, and
Iodine Supplementation... as it was originally posted in the middle of an already ongoing thread).
This post (above) if FULL of vital and (what seems to me like) VERY valid information regarding iron levels in the human body and
Iodine absorption or malabsorption. Children with goiter (some anemic, some not) were given iodine...the majority of those that were iron deficient/anemic showed low/no response to the iodine, while the majority of those that were not deficient in iron showed vast improvement.
...from one of the links Grz provided:
>>Conclusion: The therapeutic response to oral
Iodine was impaired in goitrous children with iron deficiency anemia, suggesting that the presence of iron deficiency anemia in children limits the effectiveness of iodine intervention programs.<<
...from THE iodine4health site:
>>>These findings argue strongly for improving iron status in areas of overlapping deficiency, not only to combat anemia but also to increase the efficacy of iodine prophylaxis. <<<
There are several other blurbs that clearly show links between iodine absorption and serum iron levels.
THIS IS IMPORTANT STUFF! V (and others ?) have been promoting IP6 as an adjunct therapy for iodine supplementation for MONTHS...but IP6 chelates iron and lowers blood iron levels (common knowledge)...but this new information CLEARLY states anemia/low iron levels can cause iodine to not be absorbed or utilized properly by the thyroid/body!!!
And what has happened so far? Do the leaders of the VWT Iodine Supplementation Forum seem to be interested in this vital information and how it relates to the health of those they give advice to (or suggest using IP6 to?). Hardly. At the time I'm writing this, Wombat... (edit - apparently Wombat -or someone- has changed the user ID of her posts to UserX. Just so there's no confusion, when I wrote this post, all of the UserX posts were Wombat)... seems far more concerned with trying to convince everyone that Grz has some kind of 'negative iodine intent' or is somehow attacking Corey's positive iodine testimony and V is laughingly telling Grz:
--"grizzy never even heard of IP6 before the vulc."

This really is PITIFUL! These are forum owners upon whom others RELY on for valid information for their health, and the health of their loved ones. And when given incredibly vital information that clearly indicates that a protocol they've been suggesting to accompany iodine supplementation MIGHT be contraindicted, is anyone reacting in a way that would indicate at ALL that they are hungry for knowledge and desire to know the truth?
Y'know, who gives a rat's turd if the a person offering information has motives that one doesn't agree with? (or in this case, suggesting that with all the protocols Corey has done in the past/present, possibly it's not ALL the iodine that accounts for the total success, especially in light of the IP6 information shown). If leaders/posters are offered valid information concerning a topic for which they frequently are advising others...whether advising correctly OR incorrectly (especially since part of the information is from the iodine4health site)...who cares whether the information is offered by an ogre, an angel, or a screaming lunatic??? Dontcha think it's the INFORMATION, knowledge, safety and concern for health that should be of the most (possibly ONLY) concern??
Besides, speaking as one who has been falsely accused & had my motives totally misconstrued for months***, I'm quite sure Grz's track record on Curezone speaks for itself. His hunger for the truth, his own healings, his own respectful demeanor in offering advice AND debating simply are quite obviously genuine and that should not be overlooked here. But even if I thought Grz were a total jerk and had some kind of "big bad iodine motive", the information he offered is HUGELY important and should be cause for serious consideration. (And as a short aside: it seems to me that Grz is showing that low iron/anemia - possibly caused by IP6, can cause iodine to NOT be absorbed properly. If he were ANTI iodine, why in the world would he take the time to post a concern about a protocol that causes iodine to NOT be absorbed?)
I recall at least one person on the VWT forum that had blood work that came back anemic, amongst other things. It's very possible that if she did the IP6, that was both the cause for her anemia AND her lack of desired results with iodine (as it appears that anemia and/or iron deficiency impacts iodine absorbtion negatively, from the links Grz provided).
HELLO VWT, DON'T YOU CARE TO KNOW THIS? DON'T YOU DESIRE TO LEARN & UNDERSTAND EVERY ASPECT OF IODINE SUPPLEMENTATION THAT YOU CAN POSSIBLY LEARN? (obviously rhetorical questions).
***It seems sometimes to me that almost all of of "CZ Iodine" has become hugely burdened with people desperately determined to decide what other people's motives are. Anyone "for" iodine (and those that accept the works of allopathic physicians without question), obviously have "good" intentions...anyone having a bad experience with iodine supplementation or wanting to question the works of the allopathic physicians, or simply put forth questions that may or may not have been answered in the few years that iodine supplementation has gained popularity...well, they are perceived as OBVIOUSLY having some kind of "anti-iodine" motive - and should have every word of every post scrutinized under the "intent microscope" of a few selected posters & forum owners.
Not only did I have a negative experience with iodine (that could have EASILY been prevented if I'd known the signs to look for...signs that I erroneously chalked up to detox), I've had no less than FIVE other CZers email me privately and tell me they've also had bad reactions (some similar, some not so similar). But after seeing how I've been accused and ridiculed, they chose not to post their experiences, as they didn't have the stomach to go through what I've been through. With me, that makes SIX people that have very valid negative experiences to share that could prevent others from suffering or going through what we've been through. BUT because of the CONSTANT accusations of 'bad motive' (as you so clearly can see in this thread with Grz), these people chose not to share. I also know of two other CZers that have had 1 or 2 different people contact THEM, saying basically the same thing (different people than contacted me)...for a total of at least EIGHT people with negative reactions whose information will probably never be known. Do all these people who were VERY excited about Iodine Supplementation have "bad motive"?
Personally? I hope to be able to start supplementing again soon. At this point, one drop of
Lugol's or detoxified still causes an immediate negative reaction within 20 minutes (which lasts for approximately a day and a half), so I simply can't. Of the 5 that contacted me directly, I've helped two 'over their hump' and they're still supplementing with Lugol's. (Two wouldn't consider EVER supplementing again, and the jury's still out on the fifth).
So no matter what anybody says or believes, I am NOT anti-iodine...I'm only 'anti' when it comes to covering up the truth, squelching the flow of the truth, and I'm definitely ANTI--"accuse enough people of bad intent so that people can't share their stories and help others by doing so".
The truth IS out there, but the works of a few doctors and the clinical reports of few thousand people by the same allopathic doctors, are a LONG way from beingt the complete story.
And what a shame it is (to me) that such a wonderful venue for the exchange of information amongst friends & people whom we've all grown to know & respect over the months & years, has turned into a virtual circus of people making VERY hurtful accusations over misconstrued motives INSTEAD of continuing to seek, search and learn from each other, and hence learn ALL the aspects of a substance that's so vital to our health.
