Re: Grzbear, lets come up with a way to start balancing:
quick post because I'll have to come back and read the above posts tomorrow, but before I forget - I think in my search for a good cod liver oil, I found a few sites offering a form that was combined with "high vitamin butter" for best absoprtion of Vitamin A and/or Vit. D in the oil. This was Dr. Weston Price's observation and recommedation.
Somewhere in that information, there was something said about minerals needing adequate complementary amounts of vitamin A and/or Vitamin D (can't remember if it was one or both of those) to be properly absorbed by the body.
I had been taking a fulvic acid product (which I think is a colloidal) for about a month without noticing much, but as soon as I started supplementing my diet liberally with cod liver oil, my nails started growing like crazy, and I"m wondering if that wasn't a coincidence. It's possible that it took me a month to re-mineralize, with or without the addition of the oil, but that's worth thinking about - what else the body needs or what conditions in requires in order to take up and use the minerals you give it.
You're right - this should be a more active forum. I neglected the minerals component for a LONG time, and that was a mistake. I frankly don't know why any of my alternative health practioners I've seen over the years didn't stress it more.
