Re: The Power of Prayer?

hi! I am going to start adding my prayers with everyone for Ben-- I totally agree that no matter what religion a person, there are many forms of prayer, and all forms are sincere energy directed toward the Divine. All forms are heard.

A late wise Italian pastor who started our little non-denominational church I go to once said that many a time, even a sigh is a form of prayer.

Former skeptic that I have always been--I'll never forget what woke me up about how we are all heard by our Creator.

When I was stranded over my pastor's home due to a snow storm after church, they let me sleep in a comfy couch in thier study room. Waking up the next morning, I snooped through my pastor's book shelf, and came across an old out of print book titled, "How I know God Answers Prayer". It was an autobiography of a missionary relaying her experiences of how God kept answering all her prayers.

I asked God if I could have that book for my own book collection-- and that I'd be willing to wait for how long required to receive that book.

Seven days later my mother wanted me to come with her to a junk store/flea market. I didnt really want to go, but went anyway and found myself at an old book table looking through old spiritual books. The clerk there pulled a book from a wall shelf and asked me if maybe I'd be interested in that particular book-- (found in someone's attic)

Guess what? ... It was THAT SAME EXACT BOOK - only autographed by the author!!!

I read it from cover to cover when I got home, and will always treasure it. The author experienced non-coincidental answers to even the silliest prayers, showing that all of us are heard-- no matter how small we are.

This experience really helped to boost my faith-- now I have no excuse not to believe. Also, I find throughout life that the answer doesnt always come as expected, and sometimes it is a "no- for my highest good", but It is always answered.
