True relaxing is the key


"Unable to relax or lack of relaxing is one cause of disease/imbalance. According to tcm muscles are connected to the digestive system through spleen's vital function of transformation and transportation of foods and fluids. The muscles are strong when this process is effective.

Under chronic stress, over-thinking, excessive exercise or bad posture the muscles become very tense which no stretching or yoga can cure. The only way to release this tension and help spleen's function, is to find time in your day to really relax your whole body. This means cooperative work of your body and mind. Lie on your back, and try to feel the earth's magnetic force pulling down and relaxing your whole body and it's every muscle/tissue. Take support from Earth and feel yourself lightweight as air, almost like you would not have a body at all. Melt down all the tension and pain in your muscles using your mind. The goal is not to feel yourself as heavy. Continue this process until you are able to make your body very soft and relaxed at will. It is very hard to relax the body, since due to stress, sometimes we may even forget that such relaxed state of mind and body does even exist! So try to let your body and mind totally loose. Learn also to relax your body in standing position and practice relaxing while walking. Walk always very softly, this will have a very profound effect on your health.

If you compare little kid and ( stressed ) adult walking on the street you see the difference immediately. Other is loose, calm and has completely lost oneself in his world, other is walking rapidly being overly hasty and stressed, turned his senses outwards.

No wonder taoists teaches one is enlightened when one understands the perfect balance which we had when were children.

Also, when you are able to make your body and mind extremely relaxed and practice relaxing throughout your day, your spleen will become very effective in transporting and transforming bodily fluids and nutrients. You can then start eating less ( especially eat your last meal early ) so your body will have the time and energy to get rid of excess dampness and do purification processes.

Let your observer brain also rest during your days! Simply practice the thought of no-thought. Try to think and observe nothing so to speak. Over-thinking or over-observing will give extra burden to your spleen which works very hard to transform and transport the nutrients and fluids in your body. "
