I am not sure it is even constitutional to take away someones vote. CERTAINLY IT IS NOT CONSTITUTIONAL TO TAKE AWAY A PERSONS RIGHT TO VOTE FOR A CRIME THAT IS UNCONSTITUTIONAL. Alcohol was made illegal by an amendment to the constitution.
However the drug war, which is a war on people,(Timothy Leary) has been used to
disenfranchise TENS of millions of voters, convicted of felony drug related crimes.
Currently there are 2.2M in Us prisons of which about 1.8m are for drug related crimes. Soon prisons will all be privatized which will mean that we the people will be paying rich people to put us in prison and torture us. (Now we pay our government to do it)
If we assume that drug users are more freedom loving, independent and liberal
than the general population the fact the millions have lost their vote means we do not
have a democracy at all.
You have the right to vote as long as you vote right.
Cheech Marin was imprisoned for 6 months for selling water pipes online.
