In my early days of frugal living, we'd
put a pot of beans in a cast iron kettle
on the woodstove and eat outta there for
days. If you go camping, they do great over
an open fire, so good for if we truly have
to convert to survival mode. They will also
do good in my parabolic solar cooker which
can heat up to 900+ degrees.
Katom has good prices and fast shipping. I
am happy it worked out for you. If you like
your cast iron enough to want a wok, they
have the lowest online price for the wok. I
found one in a store for 4 bucks less but
tax would have make it a bigger deal and
shipping is always less than the price of
gas I pay to go fetch anything.
Oh, and as you will discover, you can get
really strong arms lifting cast iron...ggg.
Otherwise, I think you will find it a great
investment.
