My teas contain a mixture of different herbs every 2 weeks. I know herbs for liver and kidney support were used, but I don't think it was the specific ones you mention. I strongly believe in the power of herbs but I think there's something else going on with me. Maybe leaky gut, as you mention in my other post.
I just saw my herbalist earlier today. We agreed that after almost 4 months of herbs, I would take a 2 week break. The thinking is that maybe my body is becoming too used to the herbs and thus the progress has halted.
I am disappointed to say that I will try using steroid cream for 5 days after the 2 week break out of desperation and some peer pressure. I have barely left the house for over a month! I miss the forest, but it's still cold here and it hurts to put on clothing :(
My herbalist did mention emotional stress (tying in with the liver) as a trigger, especially to sudden onset of eczema in adulthood. I did go through some changes prior to eczema and I have never been good at expelling my emotions.
I will look into milk thistle as well. I have tried to take a close look at my eyes to read them but I would like the assistance of a professional. I can clearly see radii Solaris and nerve rings in both eyes.
Sad to see herbs being abused for money! The people are also to blame because these days herbs hold no power or significance to the average person. Hoping this will soon change.
Turmeric is a true superfood that with tons of amazing health benefits, while the active ingredient of it-curcumin isn’t easy to be absorbed by your body, it means turmeric had low bioavailability. “Bioavailability refers to the extent to and rate at which the active moiety (drug or metabolite) enters systemic circulation, thereby accessing the site of action.” Explained by the Merck manual.
This character of turmeric has been proven by several studies:
A 1978 study (1) in the rat found that curcumin was poorly absorbed in the gut, less part was absorbed and almost 3/4 of it was excreted via the feces.
Another recent study (2) found that only 0.36ug/ml of curcumin was found in the blood serum when 10mg/kg of curcumin was orally administered.
In these researches, even increasing the dose could not lead to better absorption. So it’s essential to find ways to increase the bioavailability of curcumin in the body. Healthyandnaturalworld listed 3 methods for this:

Scientific studies suggest that daily hibiscus tea consumption may benefit people with slightly increased blood pressure. In a six-week study published in the Journal of Nutrition, researchers discovered that hibiscus tea has a greater effect lowering systolic blood pressure than the placebo group, in 65 adults with mildly high blood pressure or pre-hypertension.
Studies have also found that hibiscus tea can lower blood pressure in type 2 diabetics.
The antioxidant properties in hibiscus tea are also thought to benefit people with high cholesterol. Animal studies have found that hibiscus tea may lower total cholesterol and low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol, also known as “the bad” cholesterol.
Other studies indicate that hibiscus tea may lower cholesterol levels in people with metabolic syndrome or diabetes.

Another study from 2009 found that daily hibiscus tea consumption could reduce blood pressure in type 2 diabetics.

In a study published in the journal Food and Chemical Toxicology in 2000, researchers found that the anthocyannins in hibiscus tea could significantly reduce inflammatory liver lesions and oxidative liver damage in rats with toxic livers.
The hibiscus protocatechuic acid found in hibiscus tea has strong antioxidant and anti-tumor properties.
In a study published in the journal Biochemical Pharmacology in 2000, researchers from the Department and Institute of Biochemistry at the Chung Shan Medical and Dental College in Taichung, Taiwan suggested that the protocatechuic acid in hibiscus tea inhibits cancer cell growth by inducing cell death in human leukemia cells.
Hibiscus tea health benefits also include calming the nervous system. This helps put people into a positive mind frame to reduce symptoms of depression and anxiety.
