For "me & mine" we have a farily logical way of determining "excessive"...when it comes to the body, anyway.
Simply, when the body starts 'throwing off' something (or detoxing from it, however one wants to look at it), it generally means that the 'something' is either a poison or one is ingesting too much of it/more than the body requires. In the case of the current wave of
Iodine studies, we have evidence that the 'average human body' that starts taking 50mg of
Lugol's Solution or Iodoral daily, starts 'throwing off' every milligram of what's ingested in 1-3 months....but before that time, the body keeps it.
How much further does one need to look, or how many "scientific studies" does one need to read when the body presents that solid sort of logic? "I've had too much and I'm getting rid of 100% of what you continue to shove into me!" - it can't be much clearer than that!
I recently read a book entitled "Trust Us, We're Experts" that exposes how the varying factions throughout history (& currently) rely upon 'science' (and public relations/propaganda) to back up whatever claim they're trying to make or defend. One example given was related to the harmfulness of fluorocarbons (a pure evil chemical-combo if ever there was one). Hundreds of thousands of dollars (and almost as many documents) have been presented to 'scientifically prove' it's safety at various levels; politicians have been bribed & caught allowing plants to be built and the waste to go WELL past ANY level of 'acceptable' levels in the environment. The case in point: One 'common' mother went on 'full scale rampage' when a plant was going to be built near her child's school. The school was in a deep secluded valley, the school directly 'under' the purposed facility...and the emmissions from other plants/other chemicals had already been proven to be brutally detrimental to the health & environment over and over (there was no 'flow' of air, and everything put into the air fell directly into this valley). After years worth of fighting, lobbying, and even a presidential promise that the 'fluorocarbon plant' would not be allowed, it was built. Several scientists/geologists that she engaged to provide evidence for her long fight, actually were brutally attacked by the PR firms hired by the plant, and their career & reputation were utterly destroyed. All to no avail.
Until finally the tiny town got behind the lady and at one of their city meetings there was a picture drawn showing the valley, the mountains, where the plant would be, where the chemicals would go, and how it would fall back into the valley. And then the "scientists" from the plant went into elaborating & explaining all of their intensive 'studies', until a lil' grade school girl said loudly: Mommy, I don't get it - we're in a valley, the air doesn't ever move in or out, how can can they say that what they dump in the valley won't hurt us? It doesn't take any kind of fancy paperwork to understand that - that's just common sense.
Aaaah, common sense is not necessarily so common, eh?
Take something other than iodine...potassium, for example. We NEED potassium, we don't usually get enough in our diet, and if we take too much (which generally happens when utilizing it as a "band aid supplement" because we don't eat right, take too many pharmaceuticals, or won't go to the effort to truly cure ourselves of our problematic symptoms), well, when we take too much - the kidneys easily 'throw off' the extra. But IF something goes wrong with the kidneys, or there's a severe infection, adrenal dysfunction, certain herbs/Rx drugs are ingested, and then one ingests too much potassium and the body can't rid itself of it? Well, the worst case scenario is death by heart failure...and since the warning signs are none too obvious, this is something that happens all too frequently. Is it that we have a LACK of potassium supplements that we have searing leg cramps? Or is it that our bodies are ingesting a deficient diet with organs that are clogged & a digestive tract that can't assimilate? The potassium supplement may 'band aid the symptom', but it doesn't solve the problem.
Back to iodine. Do we suffer from a lack of "iodine supplement" or is it that our bodies are ingesting a deficient diet with organs that are clogged & a digestive tract that can't assimilate what we SHOULD be eating? If one starts throwing off ONE HUNDRED PERCENT of every milligram of 'iodine supplement' that's ingested after 1-3 months, then that clearly shows SOMETHING! Like potassium, there may only be a risk if one's kidneys couldn't 'throw off' what our body KNOWS it doesn't need or want. What are the reasons one could end up NOT 'throwing off' the
Iodine that even the 'scientific studies' clearly show the body starts 'throwing off 100% of' after the 1-3 months of 50mg daily?
--Does anybody know?
--What symptoms would there be?
--What damage to the body (long term or short term) might be incurred if the body canNOT throw off the
Iodine that it's trying to rid the body of?
--Might the symptoms of too much iodine (a halogen) be very similar to the symptoms of too much bromide (another halogen)? (the similarity between the two 'too much' substances has certainly been reported throughout medical literature (long before bromine was a common poison) AND the similarity has also been reported by respected longterm posters her on Curezone). So we'd be foolish not to consider that possibility.
--What if the iodine supplementers that are experiencing too much iodine assumed it was 'bromine detox'...and kept taking more and more iodine to detox themselves from the "bromine"?
--Is there really any possibility that allopathic MD's & researchers who have devoted decades of their lives AND put their career & clinical reputation totally on-the-line to defend their research & studies regarding iodine, might actually publish the possible dangers and risks they may have run across, and put it all into print, with totally unbiased clinical references and full disclosure? (I hear knowledgeable CZ'ers snorting until they choke on that question). Has ANY allopathic physician/researcher/scientist/pharmaceutical company EVER included ALL of the cases that dropped out of every study, why they dropped out, what damage they incurred, and all of the adverse reactions...when their reputation, career & income were on the line?
--And if we know the answer to that, why are so many CZers continuing to base their decisions on the research and clinical studies of allpathic physicians & researchers?
--Everyone keeps saying how these MD's developed all these various adjunct mineral/supplemental protocols? Huh, it seems to me like they were added by various healers over time, and then the 'researching docs' picked up on a few of them? Has the Abraham, Flechas, Brownstein, et al 'team' been the innovaters of the adjunct therapies, or the followers?
--Just how long did it take these scientific doctors & researchers to discover the salt-loading protocol & publish/recommend it?
--And since salt-loading significantly increases the release of stored bromine (even without iodine), how have they protected those supplementing iodine from liver & kidney stress during the time of supplementation (while releasing the 'double bromine whammy' of both iodine AND salt-loading?
--What if iodine is similar to potassium, and when the kidneys are compromised they just CAN not eliminate the excess iodine the body is trying to throw off?
--What happens if there's a huge bromine detox for the kidneys to handle AND a big iodine overload for the kidneys to handle at the same time? (Which is easily possible since the body throwns off ONE HUNDRED PERCENT of the iodine ingested once sufficiency is reached...and patients have been reported to have daily bromine levels in their urine that are more than 1/4 of the lethal dose of bromine).
--And how have these 'scientists', allopathic physicians and researchers recommended to protect & support the entire body from the massive amounts of heavy metals that they've proven are being dislodged by the iodine? (People have suffered permanent kidney damage from mercury chelation alone - what if the kidneys are dealing with fluoride, bromide, mercury, aluminum, arsenic, cadmium, & lead...and maybe too much iodine...ALL AT THE SAME TIME? -like the urine of their patients clearly show they are).
--How are they monitoring this? Where's the published data?
--What are they doing to prepare their patients for all the possible consequences for the mental & physical stress of this heavy/severe of a toxin load?
--Are they counseling each patient individually? Giving out handouts/information? Or are they prescribing Rx pharamaceuticals to handle the inevitably reported symptoms of depression, anxiety, joint aches, constipation, diarrhea, kidney/liver pain - possibly limited function --bringing on a whole variety of other symptoms?
--Are they treating the WHOLE person? Or just the symptom? (Think: cancer doc/oncologist: "I KNOW you're depressed, exhausted, nauseated, and your immune system is shot, but the chemotherapy/radiation IS shrinking your tumor).
--Yes, their research shows that iodine "cures" all manner of diseases. BUT, is iodine truly & really a cure? Or is it a band-aid that squelches the symtpoms, and when one stops taking it, the symptoms return? Because if it is, that's no cure at all...that'd be no more of a cure than chemotherapy is for cancer, beta-blockers are for heart failure, or Prozac is for depression. Is iodine a cure? or a symptom band-aid for the myriads of diseases the 'scientists' claim?
I don't know the answers to most of those questions...but I feel they are questions that demand answers. There are plenty of people/CZers trusting these docs. We should not be afraid to ask the questions and insist on the answers that balance the scale of the enormous exuberance (and dosages) being experienced by those who are jumping in WITHOUT asking these things. I was one of those 'jumpers' once myself...now I realize I should have asked more and trusted less.
>>>a short aside - with a bit of personal bias: there's not ONE disease that the infamous 'iodine docs' have cured that hasn't been cured in the past by healers like Gerson, Kelley, Schulze, Christopher et al...and they did it with virtually NO risk whatsoever and most of them did simply by cleansing the organs and giving the body what it needs in the form of natural food & juice - in a form that the body easily could manage if one element became out of balance. But we humans just don't want to give up our vices and go to the trouble of thoroughly cleansing our body - we don't want to seem "abnormal" in a totally abnormally society by eating normally and developing a truly normal/healthy lifestyle. We WANT to defend & keep our intake of food poisons, alcohol, coffee, 'band aid herbs & supplements', and adopt a "politically correct" CAM lifestyle. But Complementary Alternative Medicine is for 'complementing' ALLOPATHIC SCIENCE! If I have to read one more article about all the good herbs & supplements that support ones body while going through chemotherapy to 'cure' cancer, I'll scream! The "science" that allopathic medicine bases all their latest & greatest 'miracle cures' upon (and that ND's and natural healers base their supplemental regimes upon), is the THEORY of germs by Pasteur, Newtonian Physics, and microbiology & genetics that have been proven to be ineffective, faulty, limiting and many times TOTALLY in error...for decades by several healers & researchers that had their works destroyed or usurped by the Powers that Be. I've heard of more outrageous protocols using supplements in the last 10 years "based on science" than I have pennies in my 20 gallon penny jar. Healing & medicine is no different than anything else...for every reaction, there's an equal and opposite REaction. One cannot plow their body with non-foodbase sources of supplements for Symptom A, and not expect to have an imbalance somewhere along the line, and a Symptom B...which one band-aids with more 'natural' supplements and causes Symptom C...and on down the line. For me, there's just no such thing as a "natural" therapy that complements allopathic 'science'...because the aim of allopathic medicine has never been to truly cure.<<<
Am I glad that hundreds/thousands of people are being cured from symptomatic diseases by continuing to take iodine (well past the time when there bodies start throwing off every milligram they ingest)INSTEAD of having breasts carved off, organs carved out, radiated and poisoned with chemotherapy until they die a miserable, broken death? HELL YES! APPLAUSE! APPLAUSE! But I also would have applauded the penicillin that saved thousands of people the miserable death of pneumonia...IF I wouldn't have known that hydrogen peroxide did the same thing in a much safer manner, and didn't create super germs. It seems now the entire WVT Iodine Supplementation has totally lost their pioneering spirit...and that truly alarms me. True pioneers and true healers examine ALL sides of every substance and protocol...the propensity for healing, the propensity for damage, and the the potential effects (both negative and positive) for everything in every aspect of the human body. They now all seem to be on the "penicillin is a miracle" wave...and scarily, that wave may just turn out to be a violent tsunami in the months, years, or decades to come.
And to think, most all of this started from the works of Dr. Abraham...who found that the Japanese (amongst other things) have the lowest rates of
Breast Cancer in the world because they get 8-12 milligrams of iodine in the form of seaweed daily. And not one of those Japanese ever met a bottle or
Lugol's or an Iodoral tablet.
Hmmm, one has to wonder how "that" turned into "this"....'must be another example of "science", eh?
