For natural treatment, I highly suggest seeing a naturopath doctor (try to find one recommended or with experience with women's health). The adrenal support I am on is specific to my symptoms and adrenal test results. A saliva test lab with samples taken 4 times during the day can determine hormone levels and where out of balance. For my treatment, I am taking Isocort (which is a cortisol booster) in the morning, ashwaganda (which can be purchased in a supplement store), Unda 2, 9, 243 (homeopathic treatment), EFA (essential fatty acids/ omega-3), calcium/magnesium at night to help with sleep, and Sam-e (with B vitamins). But some people may do better on GABA, or 5-HTP, ADHS, or other supplements more specific to them. Some people may also have thyroid problems too. I also was given a one time homeopathic treatment (Sep 10M) that was to put hormones back in balance. Some of these items may not be able to be purchased outside of a doctor. Also important is chromium to help treat the anxiety feeling (which is actually related to hypoglycemia, and the bodies inability to balance blood Sugar
which could come from not eating well/enough, or bodies inability to process what it is eating and chromium helps with that. And to eat healthy, not missing meals, high protein, lower carb (especially simple carbs), and some good fats, no caffeine, low alcohol (although I still drink wine). I think the biggest contribution made to healing was to have the IUD removed of course, cause I had been doing adrenal support for 7 months now, and didn't feel "normal" until having the IUD removed. Although, I am sure the adrenal support kept me from getting worse. The worst stages of adrenal fatigue do start to fall into some of other women's symptoms being hair loss, numbness, severe weight gain, skin problems. A great book I have read is called Mood Cures by Julia Ross, which can help guide or do some reading on the internet about adrenal fatigue. Good luck to everyone!
