I just wanted to let people know my experience. I had a baby 3 months ago and had angry purple stretch marks on my tummy. I spent the whole pregnancy rubbing all kinds of expensive cures over my belly including Bio-Oil and Palmers Stretch Mark lotion. Sometimes my stretch marks looked better but in other light they looked the same.
I live in London, England and the last few days it was really sunny and warm (a change to the usual rain and cloudy skies). I lay on the grass in the garden with my tummy exposed for about 15 minutes. The next day my stretch marks had faded significantly and some of them are almost invisible. I did some more sunbathing the next day and again, stretch marks not as noticeable. In the evening I rubbed some Bio-Oil into my skin. My marks are still faded and I don't think they will become angry again.
Not only does the sun bleach skin (and stretch marks) but it is the best source of vitamin D which is well known for treating skin conditions like
Psoriasis and is great for skin health in general. So all you people who live in hot places, go and sunbathe, it really will help and safe you £££ or $$$ on expensive lotions and potions!
