Hello,
I think you are on the right track with the amino's, vit's, not sure about Kudzo I don't know much about it I am sure it is good it seems to be helping others from by the post I've read. Have you just started on these supplements? You may need to give it a bit more time. which Amino acid's are you taking?
Hello 2g2b4r,
The main effect of alcohol is to reduce the amount of fat your body burns for energy.Rather than getting stored as fat, the main fate of alcohol is conversion into a substance called acetate.
. A small portion of the alcohol is converted into fat.
. Your liver then converts most of the alcohol into acetate.
. The acetate is then released into your bloodstream, and replaces fat as a source of fuel.
This is the reason a person who over consumes alcohol can be over weight or with a "Beer Belly" they simple are not metabolizing fat. Your appetite is depressed because of the alcohol. this is with over consumption only and has the opposite effect with those who drink very little.
It is very good that you are consuming a lot of nutrients. The first thing to address is the alcohol, and simultaneously the appetite should return. In the mean time continue to eat for the sake of eating. I realize from your other post that you have been under a tremendous amount of stress. I would just like to let you know that stress can deplete us of our natural "feel Good" hormones/neurotransmitters. which in-turn creates an inbalance in our chemistry. This is just one way we can become depleted there can be other factors as well. It is human nature to want to "feel good" or "normal",and alcohol is a way of self medicating or self-nuturing. The problem is that it destroys us, and doesn't heal us. Like most medication it just masks over the problem and does not fix it. The root of the problem is in an imbalanced chemistry. The imbalance could of happened for a number of different reasons.
The unpleasant withdrawal symptoms you feel if you go long enough with out a drink is an example of the biochemical imbalance.
If you correct the imbalance........You eliminate the withdrawal!!!
"Addiction is not your fault .......It's your chemistry"

Dr. Gant is a pioneering specialist whose treatments boast over an 80% long term recovery rate, and his protocols are currently being duplicated around the world. Think of how much easier it would be to quit drinking if you were able to reduce or eliminate your withdrawal symptoms. There are specific neurotransmiters that are affected by alcohol.
1st the brain detects alcohol induced neurotransmitters
2nd Because the brain has detected these artificle alcohol induced neurotransmiters as being present in the brain..... the brain says "we no longer need to poduce these neurotransmiters because they are all ready here" withdrawal symptoms is a lack of the brain producing neurotransmitters.
You may want to check out the posting under the Alcohol Alternatives page intitled "alcohol freee!" by minniemiller.
Since it is known which drugs displace which neurotransmitters and we know which nutritional ingredients are used to synthesize each neurotransmitter it is a relatively simple process to design a biochemical recovery plan to restore our internal support system. You can learn more about this recovery plan www.addictionsfreehealth.com

My husband was an alcoholic and has been clean and sober for about 22 years now. He had a fatty liver and some cirrohsis. Purified lethicin Helped with both. his cholesteral, and blood pressure is good and no more symptoms of cirrohsis. He too did not eat while he was drinking and had put on alot of weight. He went from 230 lbs to now at 199 lbs.
I think that AA might just be one more piece to the puzzle in solving addiction. I believe it is not just the only piece. Most often the addicted brain is just treated physcologically (the mind) and it is quite often over looked as an actual physical organ. Toxins affect our body and brain... the evidence of this shows up as the symptoms. Lack of dietary nutrients also shows up as symptoms. I believe the foundation to health is assistting our bodies in removing toxins and toximolecular substances and supply it with the essential nutrients. Amino acid deficiency is found in many disorders other than addiction.
One inexpensive way you can accuire a high concentration of aminos is by making "Green Smoothies"
Whip up in a blender any greens (the darker the better) and some pineapple or grapes, apples etc....
It may not sound tasty but it is. A very refreshing and nutritous drink. I also agree, check out the liver forum. obtain all the info you can knowledge=freedom.
It is very incouraging reading the post of those who have overcome their addiction from when they first began till where they are now. You are on the right tracK.
Note: If you begin to try to increase your amino acides and don't notice a real difference rightaway it may just mean their might be some GI tract problems that may need to be addressed first or simultaneously. You may, in the beggining, require thereputic amounts in supplement form. The effects of the amino acides can be quit dramatic. Quite often it can be within 15 min. of taking it. (realy helps with withdrawal) Another option maybe Intervenous Amino Acide Therapy. I don't know were you are located but I know of about 6? locations through out the US that offer this form of alternative treatment.
Take care
I wish you all the success as you begin your journey.
