Input desired--other means used to assist in healing/detox.
Iodine therapy is not JUST iodine. We can't take
Iodine alone and have our problems magically disappear without utilizing other measures to support our eliminative channels, support ourselves nutritionally. What else are you all doing? I think that this information would be most helpful to the newbie.
I agree. The question is: What else am I doing, so here is my story:
I have been supplementing with
Lugol's Iodine Solution since late Feb. I do not have any specific health issues that I am treating. I do not and never have taken any medications (prescription or over-the-counter, except for an
Antibiotic very short-term many years ago). I do have one gold crowned tooth.
I found this forum while doing research for a family member that had throat cancer and radiation therapy. Of course the radiation therapy that he had on his throat did damage to his thyroid...
After reading the information posted here and listening to the audio tapes I felt that I was in need of
Iodine supplementation. I was correct.
Since starting my iodine supplementation, I have increased energy, reduced belly fat. My double chin(s) have all but disappeared. My skin is healthier and I have not had any sunburn, only a nice healthy tan. I also have noticed that I do not 'overheat' when working out in the yard in the sun and heat, like I normally would. My body seems to be able to maintain a comfortable temperture. I just feel stronger and YOUNGER! These changes in my body, tell me that I NEEDED/NEED iodine!
So, I am using
Lugol's Iodine to 'supplement my diet' and give my body the iodine it needs to function and maintain health, not to treat any specific existing health condition or disease.
I never experienced any of the detox that many here have and am grateful for that. It tells me that all the other things I have done in recent years has indeed been helpful and healthful. I have not always had a healthy diet/lifestyle. I am continually working to improve on what and why I eat.
I try to only eat between noon and 6:00 p.m. Fasting the other 18 hours of the day, only drinking water with
Sea Salt or fresh lemon, maybe some apple cider vinegar added.
I am currently taking 50-100 mg of
Lugols daily. It varies on what I feel. I take a break of 2-4 days every couple of weeks. I don't believe in taking any supplement every day, 365 days a year. That's just me. I do not know how long I will stay at this dosage. I will decide when I feel more or less needed??? For now I think this dosage is good for me.
Some things I feel have helped me in my quest for a healthier life and aided my body in utilizing
Lugols efficiently include:
Therapeutic-grade essential oils. I take them internally, I apply them topically, I diffuse them in my home & car. I have been using them for several years. I believe that because of these oils I have been able to remove the toxic chemicals and other substances out of my body, organs, tissues. I have not done all the liver, parasite, colon, ect., cleanses. I believe the essential oils have already aided my body in cleansing and help keep my body frequency high enough to fight the invaders that we are faced with daily in todays polluted world.
Depleted soils, our seas and waters are toxic waste dumps. Toxic chemicals in our food and water make it very difficult, if not impossible to obtain nutrient rich food and clean water.
I believe essential oils keep my cells (receptor sites) clean so they can receive, fight and repair damage from my toxic environment. If you are interested in essential oils, here is a link to a post I have on the Aroma Therapy and Essential Oils Support Forum:
//www.curezone.org/forums/fm.asp?i=839144
I truly believe that essential oils have helped me to not have the health conditions so many of my family and friends are experiencing and that
Lugol's IODINE SOLUTION is the 'missing element' my body needed!
I drink plenty of distilled and clean water. (I NEVER drink water that has been stored/bottled in plastic) I have my own well. I am thankful I do not have city water, so at least I don't have the clorine and fluoride to deal with in my home water. I do however have contaminated water. TCEs (barrels buried and leaking into the ground water and aquafers) have been contaminating my well water for over 20 years. I have a whole house filtration system that removes this chemical, but I still distill and further purify my drinking water and only use glass containers to store it in. NOTE: I am experimenting this summer with making Trapper's yard water. So far, I have to agree with him. There is something wonderful about water that has been outside gathering energy. Thanks for sharing Trapper! I also am interested in making some Z??? water. I can't think of the name right now, but have saved the posts, so maybe next week will get the ingredients I need to give it a try. Sounds amazing.
I add Redmond's RealSalt to some of my water (I feel I need to get a better mineral rich salt, but haven't yet).
I do not like to take a lot of supplements. I know it is hard to get our nutrients from todays food chain, but I try. I am lucky to have some good fresh food sources locally. Sadly, I know that this is not always the case for many.
I do take a vitamin C that has zinc, manganese, potassium, cayenne pepper and essential oils (lemon, tangerine, orange, grapefruit and lemongrass).
I use a spice called JuvaSpice. It is good for liver function and intestinal cleansing. And tastes good on everything.
I eat Brasil nuts for extra selenium. Many have said they don't care to eat the nuts, but I like them, so it works for me.
I try to eat an organic diet.
I rarely eat out.
I do NOT own a microwave oven!
Try to eat lots of fresh and raw organic veggies and fruits.
I do eat organic beef (from a local farmer), organic chicken and eggs.
I do NOT eat pork!
I eat some organic plain yogurt. I love it with fresh berries!
I rarely eat cheese and do not drink milk.
I try to stay away from breads and anything made with flour/yeast.
I use agave or raw organic honey as sweeteners.
I eat organic seeds and nuts.
I eat organic unrefined coconut oil, olive oil and flax oil.
I avoid teas and coffee.
Mostly I just do my best to eat food that has little processing or cooking.
I am a label reader. And am always searching for better sources for food, water and personal care products. I do not use anything on my body that I would not eat. The skin is a big sponge and will absorb what you put on it. There are so many 'hidden' ingredients, adultrated processing methods and clever marketing that it is never easy to know for sure what we are buying.
I know I am forgetting some things, but you get the idea. I am working on living as healthy of a life as I can and educating myself every day. I do better some days than others! Some days I fall off my horse, the next day, I just get right back on that horse and try again!
Knowledge is power.
One thing to remember. We are all different. We all need to find what works for us. There is no ONE THING that will change your health. We live in a toxic and polluted world. We have different environments, diets and lifestyles. We all need to take one step at a time and find what we need to do to improve our health. I do however believe for the majority, iodine therapy is one GIANT step in that direction.

Sorry this got so long, but I had to answer the question asked... LOL!
The short answer would be: I try to eat organic, unprocessed, mostly raw food. Drink clean water, supplement where I feel my diet is lacking, use therapeutic-grade essential oils and take my LUGOLS! AND get plenty of fresh air, sun and exercise. I also feel that laughter is an important MEDICINE.
