as an after thought...
John says,
"We've all gotten a little bit too embroiled in this pointless exercise, I think"
As this exercise has brought us around to this moment of lucidity I don't think it has been pointless at all, at all. If anything it's helped a few of us realize we're not as far along the path as we thought we were. I believe the biggest danger to an awakening soul is falling under the illusion that you're more "spiritual" or "advanced" than anyone else because your journey, or way, seems more sophisticated to you. It's amazing how time makes fools of most of us ;-)
Anything that brings that illusion into awareness has to be a good thing, doesn't it?
John says,
"My preference for this forum would be discussing health in the context of spirituality -- this is a web site dedicated to healing, after all"
I agree in principle with this. I would add that I think we can learn a lot from our badgering and baiting each other as a metaphor for our conditions. Everyone familiar with Jung's Shadow?
Healing comes from acceptance, tolerance and unconditional love for all that's sacred. That means ALL, ladies and gentlemen! Below you'll find The Four Agreements, use then as you will.
With love,

The Four Agreements
BE IMPECCABLE WITH YOUR WORD
Speak with integrity. Say only what you mean. Avoid
using the word to speak against yourself or to gossip
about others. Use the power of your word in the
direction of truth and love.
DON'T TAKE ANYTHING PERSONALLY
Nothing others do is because of you. What others say
and do is a projection of their own reality, their own
dream. When you are immune to the opinions of
others, you won't be the victim of needless suffering.
DON'T MAKE ASSUMPTIONS
Find the courage to ask questions and to express
what you really want. Communicate with others as
clearly as you can to avoid misunderstandings,
sadness, and drama. With just this one agreement,
you can completely transform your life.
ALWAYS DO YOUR BEST
Your best is going to change from moment to
moment; It will be different when you are healthy as
opposed to sick. Under any circumstance, simply do
your best, and you will avoid self-judgment,
self-abuse, and regret.
