I haven't spent much time on Curezone lately, I have been very ill and in excruciating pain from a rather severe case of Shingles. Now, I come back and find one of my favorite forums and many of my favorite people in a war of words, name calling, insults and accusations mostly dealing with dosing protocols. And, I cannot see where any of the questions have been resolved.
I do not believe that using
Iodine in any way caused me to develop Shingles, it is a viral disease caused by the same virus that causes Chicken Pox. The virus can stay dormant for many years, then reawaken during times of stress and lowered immunity. As many of you know I have had a lot of stress the past year or so, especially after an encounter with a large deer and my car caused injuries that made me unable to walk. Add to that financial problems, job stress, and stress (and guilt) from some spiritual questions and problems has surely made me more vulnerable to illness. I have a feeling the additional stress from detoxing may have weakened me to the point the Shingles virus was awakened with a vengeance.
Now I am ready to begin using
Lugol's again, but at a much lower rate. I was hoping to find some advice about the lowest effective dose to use and find the whole forum fighting. I want to enjoy all the benefits of
Iodine supplementation, but do not want to risk detoxing too rapidly. Some folks can handle large doses, I can't, at least now now. I find myself actually afraid to post and ask questions. The forum is so volatile right now, I'm afraid of being attacked or labeled a troublemaker.
While I am still unsure about the best protocol, I am convinced that there is a whole lot to gain using
Iodine supplementation. I pray y'all can find some way to find a peaceful resolution to this problem. I doubt there is a single universal dosage or method that will work for everyone. Please try and be tolerant of differing opinions concerning dosing. The debate should deal more with the pros and cons of using Iodine than just how to use it. A variety of well thought out, documented opinions with testimonials will be much better and much more helpful than name calling and wild accusations.
I hope the Iodine Support Forum will not become yet another "my way or the highway" forums managed by bullies who threaten banning and resort to name calling and insults when there is disagreement. We have enough of that on Curezone already. I can't even take sides on this issue because I am still learning. Instead of feeling educated, I feel heart broken at the lack of respect that has been shown lately. We are better than that, and I pray we can put anger and emotionalism aside and strive for peace and unity even when we disagree on certain aspects of Iodine supplementation (and really, all the different protocols promoted here on Curezone).
