A reminder here- although
Lugol and formulas derived from it do not appear to have had notorious effects over the years that IODINE/IODIDE is NOT the one found in the Kelp and sea weeds related products..
One can check this website which is still one of the best in regards to Iodine/iodide
http://lewisford.info/iodide.html
I am of the view that any inert mineral will accumulate and stay inside the body and eventually cause it harm..
Japanese get their iodine/iodide from sea weeds ,etc..
I am also taking Kelp besides Lugol. However wither Kelp ? Some recommend the one from NOW or Atlantic Kelp from Nova Scotia or from the West Coast- Oregon /Hawaii ?
Studies have shown that Japanese Kelp has the highest concentration of iodine/iodide then comes the oen from Hawaii and Oregon..
In food health stores most of their Kelp seem to come from the Atlantic region..as it is cheaper..
Some food outlets are now starting to sell "ionic iodine". Unsure if just marketing ploy or ?
Iodine/iodide from sea weed extracts that has the full
Iodine complex go for about $40 per 2
oz bottle(?) or so..Has anyone tried it ?
Note-I am not health practitioner or scientist but I do urge people to be level headed and not go overboard. The last thing we need are 1 or 2 deaths by over
Iodine consumption..as the bought and paid media would blare it all accross the US/Canada to effectively have it banned for good..
And yes the FDA could oblige the pet shops to sell an inferior
Iodine product that could contain stuff(additives, stabilizers, whatever) making it unfit for human consumption..
