when the cells in the blood are all highly charged, they repel each other. this creates good healthy blood, as the cells are all as far apart from each other as possible, and can take in nutrients and expel waste very efficiently. however, when the cells have little or no charge they begin to clump together, this cause "blood sludge" as the cells coagulate, and cannot effectively take in nourishment or expel waste. its not healthy blood.
zeta potential is a measurement of the charge an electrolyte solution has. electrolytes are charged particles of minerals like calcium potassium and magnesium. so if the blood is high in charged electrolytes, the zeta potential is said to be high. this is good, it creates a situation of healthy blood. this blood is very effecitve at its job of oxygenating the body and carrying nutrients, etc.
but if the blood stream is lacking in charged electrolytes, then the zeta potential drops and the blood begins to turn sludgey and the cells clump together. in this state they are not very effective at carrying nutrients and oxygen to the body.
drinking water with added electrolytes like potassium sulphate, or even Sea Salt
, will raise your blood zeta potential. this is a good thing, it creates healthier blood, etc.
