Does Bush Think War with Iran Is Preordained?
The Christian right sees an apocalyptic nuclear war with Iran as a vision set forth in the Bible. Bush himself may be a believer, too.

We have heard about "the Rapture", a mythical bit of wishfull thinking about the invisible man in the sky returning his only son to earth to save us all, but only after a cleansing, a
Liver Flush for planet earth. Nice for a movie or a story book, but on real planet earth we see something horrible occuring and we have to wonder if it is being done on purpose.
First there is climate change, and wars over that same oil that is causing climate change - an opportunity to kill two bad birds with one stone by going with renewable energy. BUT Oh NOOOOO!! can't do that, someone will lose money, or the other guys will make some money, so the Elite Petro-Wealthy deny it is happening. Or maybe we continue on this path to bring on the Rapture? Gee, it sounds crazy, but then again,,people who believe in 'invisible man in the sky' stories are certainly capable of believeing that bringing on the Rapture and 2nd Coming will get them into heaven, or create a heaven on earth.
As if we didn't ALLREADY HAVE heaven on earth.... or at least it was within sight for awhile - climate was more stable than at any time in earth's history, the population was educated and therefore capable of slowing their growth rates, and most everyone was getting enough to eat. Wars and conflicts could have ended too, except for the religious, and the oil people, stirring things up.
Imagine if we had put our efforts into making everyone happy instead of making a few people very very wealthy!!!
We had Heaven on Earth in our grasp. Bringing on the Rapture, ironically, may be one of the main reasons we gave it away.
