To the Webmaster,
What is gradually happening is that healthy, open-minded discussion on this site (in general) is being somewhat discouraged by the ridiculously-polizarized thinking of ML's forum and the blind support given him by its moderator. According to him, his is the only worthy advice and everything else is just the 'blind leading the blind'. However, many who have read his forum off and on from the beginning are intelligent enough to realize that the writings of a self-admitted crazy person who claims his so-called teachings come from God himself, supported by a gullible mod who's openly stated that he's the organ grinder and she's his monkey, need to be taken with a grain of salt.
He once again posted his usual round of disparaging comments to the
Candida Forum (this should be off-limits by the way; his spite should be confined to his own forum as it's best suited there), that treatments being discussed weren't solving "ALL" their problems yet doesn't concede that for some people, the alkalizing drink combined with dietary improvement may not solve "ALL" problems. Consider he always has an out; if his forum regulars don't get well, it's always their own fault.. he fails to acknowledge that each person's situation is a bit different. He comes off as kind of a simple man, and simple people tend to see everything in absolutes.
Those who have their own forums can state what they want; basically, it's freedom of speech and if you don't like it, don't visit their forum. I understand this, as it's an individual choice. However should Curezone not have a greater responsibility to its readership as a whole than letting just *anything* be posted, and not only that, validated by a moderator who's obviously been taken in hook, line and sinker because she's enamored with the forum leader on an emotional level? ISN'T THE WHOLE POINT OF BEING A MODERATOR, TO BE OBJECTIVE and not an unthinking cheerleader?! I'm not saying Moreless is flat-out wrong with his ideas, just that thus far, they're unproven. So the potential of misleading people is there- compounded by the fact the mod enthusiastically places an "R" on most of his posts regardless of the content.
The pervasive, condescending and arrogant tone has been brought up many times and it's obvious he has some kind of psychological need to berate and belittle others when he should feel no need to- this has gone on for months and has turned off potential visitors to the site (esp. newbies), who leave more than just the Moreless forum. Do you really want to allow this to continue, when it could be so easily remediated by placing certain basic ground rules in effect such as a bare minimum modicum of respect required by all heads of their own forums?
In light of this, might I suggest that the following changes could be made. They would be *VERY* easy to implement and could take care of a multitude of ongoing issues:
1) No moderator can be "in league" with the head of a forum- setting up a website for him or basically doing work for him etc. This shows obvious favoritism and a willingness to distort the truth, as a mod must be objective, not biased.
2) Basic, proper "netiquette" ground rules in effect- trolling, disrespect, name-calling, repeated berating and belittling is not allowed whether a person is a regular poster, a mod, or forum head. Repeated violations will ban the user or IP. It must always be remembered we are here to help and encourage each other.
Even an open-discussion-forum site like this one requires moderation to some degree. Everyone posting should be held to the same standards; this is not a subjective, in-the-eye-of-the-beholder kind of thing. Failing to do this will cause the reputation of this site (arguably the greatest alt-health website on the Net) to be tainted as little by little the lack of standards causes situations like the Moreless forum (which undoubtedly won't be the last), to grow out of control.
Please consider it.
