Don't look for the borders to be closed anytime soon, unfortunately. It is all political. Republicans like the cheap supply of labor and Democrats tend to represent minorities, and are fearful of losing voters, so both sides are content with the status quo. They should seal the borders and raise the minimum wage so the jobs don't have to be outsourced. There are people all over the world playing by the rules to come in here legally, and they have to wait while millions come here illegally. I certainly think that Canadians and Mexicans should get more slots then other countries because they are our neighbors, but an open border is b.s. Why spend billions of dollars to fight a War under the pretense of keeping the battlefront overseas when our borders are a joke and anyone can walk in??? It is going to take another big terrorist attack in America, such as the setting off a dirty nuclear bomb, before the Government gets serious.

it would take hours and hours to satisfactorly answer all your questions. i don't have all of the answers, but i do have some that may give you a better understanding of what is about to happen and why what has happened, did happen. you may not agree and that is perfectly alright, i am not trying to convence anyone,just telling you like i see it.

most of the people that read this will not agree because i will use the bible as reference. the bible states that in the end time those within your gates,(read borders) will rule over you. what you see happening daily, is bible prophecy coming to pass.
man (mankind) is goverened by human nature,greed, lust, envy,and the list could goes on and on. we all have our share,and yes that includes me.
why do you think men spend millions of $$$ to be elected to a job that only pays thousands? lust for power. they lie, cheat, steal, murder seeking power over others.
there is no logical reason to have so many illegal aliens here in america. but the reason is because americans are too lazy to work at the type of jobs done by the ia's. here in fla. growers are already having problems getting enough people to pick the fruit and vegies. that means that some will have to be left in the fields. meaning what you have to buy will cost more. the same thing is happening in cal., org., and wa. .i read where one farmer would offer $8.00 an hour to pick apples. the ia's would phone his friend at another farmer to see what they were being paid, if it was more,guess where to went to pick apples?
bear in mind that, this means you and me will be paying more at the market.
the dems. and the reps. want do anything about the borders because the both want the ias and las as a block vote. remember lust for power? when someone crosses the border they could be bringing anything,weapons, germs, disease.
we do need some type of controled worker program for workers to handle that type of work or you and me will not be able to buy their product. the farmers want to get the job done as cheap as possible, so they use ias so they can make more. remember it is called greed?
madame healme, to get a greater understanding of how the ia problem is i would suggest that you read any book that you can find by pat buchanan. then you will understand why the bible says that this nation will fall from within, because of our sins.

It probably depends on the timeframe. The war is approaching 4 years of age. Does he mean that in these 4 years illegal aliens have killed more people then the war casualties? I highly doubt it, but in a sense it is an irrelevent question. Illegal immigration is wrong no matter what the crime statistics. We need to secure the borders and decide on how many legal immigrants will be allowed into the country and then set up the proper procedure to do it. We need to raise the minimum wage to allow more legal residents to perform some of the tasks that the illegals do. Some industries will undoubtably be hurt and may need short time assistance, but over time I think people will be willing to pay a little more for their produce if it is supporting working american families. Bush can't be let off the hook for anything. In terms of Iraq it was he, and he alone, who screwed up. I don't think I was alone before the war started saying that toppling Saddam would be easy, but installing a democratic government friedly to the West in an Arab country would be impossible. Arabs in the middle east are brought up to distrust and hate the West. I told several of my friends who used to be in the military this and all they said was that the USA would go in and roll over everything in its path because we are the USA and have the best Army in the world. Many, many people in this country knew it would deteriorate into guerilla warfare. Bush and Cheney have no one but themselves to blame for this - they are lacking many things, including common sense. Bush also does not want to secure the borders. It is amazing how he always says that we are fighting the terrorists on the streets of Baghdad so we don't have to do it on the streets of America. Yet the immigration bill he favors is an absolute joke - an amnesty bill that does nothing to secure the borders. He just cares about the cheap labor supply that benefits one of his number one special interests - big business.
