I am still a bit unclear about what is right.
When I first make my CS, there are no visible silver particles. However, the next day the liquid is still clear, but I can see sparklies floating. I've been just straining it again. Is this normal and is straining the proper thing to do?
Today I was making a batch and everything was going great. Some gunk started building up on the rod so I unplugged it, took it out and wiped it on a clean paper towel. When I stuck it back in, white vapor started coming off. It is my understanding that the milky stuff is bad, right, and I somehow contaminated the batch when I cleaned the rods?
If I started getting gunk on the rod after about 10 minutes is that normal? And could I just stop there with maybe 5 ppm CS? I see where people are going for hours and hours.
