It resonates with something I read several years ago... so long ago I can't even begin to try remembering who said/wrote it, but their opinion at that time was, based upon the trends back then for what was increasigly being proffered as milk/dairy - hormone and steroid-laden juice produced by cattle beign fed gm'd grain crops that often times had dead cattle sprinkled into the silage (cattle feed), that the majority of modern alergies were attributed to dairy in one's diet..... either first hand, or perhaps second-hand by what one's mother/father took in their diet prior to conceiving.
