MEENA...Are you talking about the Walk Away The
pounds Club from the previous
page? I kind of started that after reading on a Walk Away The
pounds website
that a lady who had been unable to lose weight...had lost 51 pounds, I think it
was...by doing the Denise Austin tapes...just walking in front of her tv...
and walking one mile when she first got up....two miles just after she took
the kids to school...and another two miles right before she went to pick them
up at school in the afternoon. I read her testimony...and I thought..."OH MY
GOODNESS...that would work." Because you're spreading out your walking throughout
the day...and keeping your metabolism reved up all day long. She lost her weight
in 2 or 3 months...don't remember now. But she lost it fast.
Several people seemed excited...and started the little experiment...but it's
just like with anything else...they evidently were looking for a quick fix and
it looks like they're still looking. I just quit posting about it...because
it seemed like they lost interest. I kept it up and lost 10
pounds in that
month....and could have lost more...but I couldn't get in "all" my walks on
any given day....there was always something that needed my attention. I usually
made the early morning walk...and the mid-morning walk...but I don't think I once
did the afternoon walk.
So I think this is the secret. I was not on any special diet whatsoever. I was
just eating what I normally do and watching portion size. I did eat lots of
salads...but I do that regularly. But I didn't really limit my normal calorie
intake at all. Just walked those miles in front of the tv. And I didn't even
use the Walk Away The Pounds tapes...even though I have them...I just walked in
front of whatever was on...Murder She Wrote...Matlock... :-)
If you walk at a pace of 120 steps in one minute...you are walking about 3 miles
per hour...and can walk a mile in about 15 minutes at that pace. That's very
easy to do...and will absolutely bring you results if you get in 5 miles a day...
spread out over the course of the day.
I was trying to lose 15 pounds before a little trip we took...but I only lost 10.
BUT...I was thrilled with that 10 pounds. It showed me that this is the program
that will work...and that you really don't have to be on any special diet to do it.
You just have to eat reasonable portions...and walk 5 miles a day. I'd been trying
to lose this 15 pounds since our last baby was born 31 years ago. I average about
124 pounds on my 5 foot frame....and I'm still going to lose another 5 or 10 pounds.
I don't have any desire to look bone thin...I don't think that looks any better
than being fat. I just want my bull dog cheeks gone off of my baby face. :-)
I had gained an additional 10 pounds on top of my 124...because of a thyroid
problem...I take meds for that...but had a problem anyway...it's a long story.
So NOW I've lost the additional 10 pounds I'd gained...and have to do it again...
to get down to about 115.
You can do it too....just get walking! kathryn
