I think it is irresponsible of your doctor to suggest removing your gallbladder when you don't have any signs of gallbladder problems. Read: My story...PJ further down on this forum. There are many, many stories on the liver/gallbladder forums of people who have cured themselves. And many by people who have refused surgery after seeing the severe complications that removing a gallbladder can cause. I would scour this site and inform yourself on how to heal yourself before even thinking about removing an organ God gave you. I don't believe there is anything in your body that should be cut out...especially on speculation by a doctor.
My mother had terrible pains in her lower abdomen, and every time she ate she would feel awful cramps. After a few days of no bowel movements my father took her to the hospital for tests. The doctor said she found a small gallstone and suggested surgery to get rid of it or remove her gallbladder. They scheduled her for the next day. My father thought about it and pestered the doctor to do more tests as even the doctor admitted that such a small stone does not usually cause such pain and constipation. Well, they found out that she had a benign tumor blocking her intestines. In the year and 1/2 that preceded this my mother had broken her hip, had one breast removed due to breast cancer, and been diagnosed with Parkinson's.
Thank God my father pressured for more tests or she would have gone through gallbladder surgery for nothing!
Doctors are in a rush to cut people up...surgery generates a lot of money. Never a suggestion on dietary changes or alternative approaches...just surgery and drugs.
