I developed those yellowish lumps in the pockets of my throat after I got
strep throat for the first time.
The yellowish lumps have only returned two to three times in the last seven years, however, I get the bad smell in the back of my mouth more often than I like. I would describe the smell as a
strong moth ball smell NOT a fecal smell. I find that lots of old people have this yucky smell.
No matter how many times you brush your teeth and clean your mouth the smell with not go away - because it's not a mouth odor.
My assumption is that these lumps return because of the strep infection or a similar infection in the throat - and I have often wondered if the smell is from an internal source due to improper eating. I really do not know.
The smell has gone away when I eat right, take multi-vitamins with folic acid, and or, take antibiotics.
Since I don't like to take antibiotics I try to eat right and take vitamins, as well as, drink lots of water.
If anyone knows what the cause of the yellow clumps and the smell are from please write.
