i am having a hard time, too. and i can't even seem to do the
Liver Flush right. i remembered something the other day from my macrobiotic days. roasted brown rice and steamed or lightly cooked vegetables are good for the gallbladder. whole grain brown rice can be difficult to digest though, so i started rinsing brown rice, toast it in a frying pan until it smells good and gets a little brown, grinding it in a coffee grinder or blender, and then cooking it with a little more that four times as much water. it takes a while to cook, but it's delicious. i add butter and salt. i always eat a vegetable with it. it has really calmed me down, and hopefully it will make me stronger for my next flush.
i can tell you a story that will make you feel better. last saturday i tried to do a flush. the lemon juice and grapefruit juice have been very irritating to my stomach lately, so i had in my mind to use some of my husbands coke. then i read that some drs. recommend cream and fruit, and maybe even ice cream in the evening of the flush. well, i went out and got hagendass ice cream and added some coke. it made me so sick i couldn't even do the flush later. i thought i would die the next day, but i actually felt okay, which made me a little more upset cause i was hoping maybe it at least pushed something out of my gallbladder. it's very embarrassing, but .....
my daughter knows about it and is constantly ribbing me. yesterday she went out to eat with some friends and said she was going to do a flush after lunch. stop at the ice cream store and get an ice cream and some coke. i told her if it worked, everyone would be doing flushes and it would be the most popular recipe!! anyway, please don't anyone else try it. i don't want to be a bad influence.
