Maybe you need to mull over the reason you did the fast in the first place. It might be that your determination isn't focused enough. Maybe you don't want it enough.

Do you have a Trader Joe's where you are? I live in Las Vegas and at Trader Joe's you can buy grade B ms 25oz. for $7.99.

I think this fast takes real determination and probably with more than one goal in mind.

For me, I was just tired of being listless, sluggish and tired all the time plus I need to loose weight. It's the perfect answer for me. I feel great, have lots of energy and better than I have felt in years.

I quit on day 5 too. I only ate fruit today and just now some flax oil popcorn. I'm not eliminating at all and with that comes a baaad mood. I'm bloated and angry at everything and most of all for doing this whole thing. I dont think I lost any weight at all and feel worse than when I started.

I'm on day five too... I totally understand the urge to quit!!! This is really hard. I hear that the first five days are the hardest - I'm clinging to that! I look at my maple syrup supply and say to myself "I can quit when I'm finished with it". Hopefully, I'll be better motivated then.... but ahhhhh food. I also am planning for my soup and all the things I can eat.

Don't be disappointed with yourself. I think five days is a great run! Hey, if you do start up again, at least you'll have some "content" to expel :)

If you want this, DON'T GIVE UP!!! I know it gets hard. This is day 6 for me. I've had some rough times too. It's all about perspective. You may want all that deliciously looking evil food NOW and you may feel ready to give in NOW, but think about it. Tomorrow will come. Next week will come. The day that you end your fast will come and go. You have TONS of time to eat in day, months, years to come. What you do today shapes your tomorrow. You won't be able to taste the food tomorrow, but you will be able to see the extra pounds (or lack thereof!) Go for the long haul! Start again/keep going. Remember IT WILL PASS!! Follow the Master-Cleanse as the book states. A lot of people run into trouble because they try to make variations. This is a tried and tested cleanse that works and has for many people for many years. Just settle your mind down for the long haul. Good job going 5 days (well, 4. you stopped day 5, right?) so... Day 5 doesn't count. start at 1 or even, if you must, count tomorrow as Day 5(though you shoud go a full 10 for the minimum good effects of cleansing!) YOU CAN DO IT!!! Good luck!

Maple syrup can be expensive yes, but if you were eating you would spend that money on food right? How much is a fast food meal these days?

I want to draw attention to a small detail. the maple syrup you use should be certified organic. Formaldahyde is used in the process of non-organic maple syrup - or so was the case when the Master-Cleanse book was written. I use organic, this way I am sure that I am not adding toxins as I am demanding my body to cleanse them.

Still, the price of food for ten days is probably more.

The benefits truly are miraculous, keep it up. Get back on track and don't give up. This will do more not only for your physical and mental health as it applies to this fast but also your relationship with yourself in acheiving a set goal and your relationship with your word to yourself. It is worth it on many levels to stick to it, no matter how many upsets. But if in the future if you need to eat again, please don't go to jack's. Hmmm, maybe something to look at here...
