I am very concerned to hear people are recommending colosoan - this is in essence Milk of Magnesia (magnesium oxide) a proudct that has been used for constipation for decades and which costs less than $5 dollars.
It is only licensed as a very short term laxative (ie less than 3 days) and has been proven in long term use to cause hard stones (enteroliths) in the bowel which can then cause bowel obstruction (an emergency often requiring surgery).
It is also an efficient moisture absorbent used by many libraries for preserving books. It is also one of the raw materials for making cement, and insulator in industrial cables and a fireproofing ingredient in construction materials.
The guys behind Colosan are clearly exploiting the innocent public. "OK I can make milk of magnesia into capsules, call it colosan and tell the world it is oxygen and magnesium for the bowel and then hike the price up to $50". Indeed, "No one will know and the unsuspecting public will buy my story as people love the thought of "oxygen" in their bowels". If indeed this were true then it would be great, but their product is nothing other than a cheap off the shelf medicinal repackaged!
I am glad that the product worked for you, but please stop using it as I am worried that you will develop long term complications from it. I was prescribed it by my therapist and it is only because I am an investigational journalist and there are no scientific details on the packaging other than hype that I felt it important to look into this.
