Yes, absolutely, organic apple juice has naturally occurring
Sugar in it.
I just took a look at the label of the Odwalla grapefruit juice that I use for liver cleansing. It has:
16g sugar
2g protein
0g fat
You can see for yourself that there is not enough fat and protein to balance out the sugar. And gator says apple juice has 26g of sugar? Oh boy. He's going to the moon on that stuff. This is one of the reasons that people think that they feel so good on these juice fasts. They are on a
Sugar high, pure and simple.
I feel so badly for all of the poor people who have been to one doctor after another for years and years and are in such poor health. In desperation they allow themselves to get taken in by these fasting schemes, embracing them like a new religion that will save them ("...all disease begins in the bowels, just get your bowels clean and you will be well my child...").
Meanwhile, they haven't done an adrenal profile (four saliva tests in the same day at certain time), so they don't know what their cortisol, DHEA-S and testosterone levels are. They haven't been tested for reactive hypoglycemia. Nor have they done a blood test for 27 minerals. Nor any one of a dozen different tests to see where hidden infections might be.
Perhaps some people who have bowel problems can benefit from parts of some of these programs, but there must be a better approach. Imagine, 26g of
Sugar per CUP!
And how many cups of juice do people on the apple juice fast drink per day? There are 16 cups per gallon. That's 416g of sugar in a gallon! I sure hope that no one is drinking a gallon of apple juice per day! Even a half of a gallon! Even ______ per day!
The apple juice fast is a bare-knuckled assault on the endocrine system, which in many of these people has already been weakened from bearing the burden of undiagnosed or improperly diagnosed illnesses.
Thanks, Paulette, for giving me the opportunity to vent (and help a few people too, I hope).
