hi...i had my first gallbladder attack last november...severe chest pain, i thought i was having a heart attack. I took myself to the emergency room where, after 4 hours, they told me i had "chest wall pain" and it should go away in a few days! ?? Anyway, after seeing my family physician and going for an ultrasound,
Gallstones were discovered. I am scheduled for gallbladder surgery in one weeks time...
As for what you should eat, after my first gallstone attack, i went on a complete low-fat diet... and i haven't had another attack since, but the times i do cheat and have something yummy, like a cream sauce, ice cream, pizza...i pay for it, yeowwza...
I discovered this site not too long ago, and with my boyfriends encouragement i did a
Liver Flush last weekend with the idea that, if i did pass some stones, i would postpone my surgery...well, i did the flush, followed every gross detail of it, and had no success...i really do not want to flush again and have decided to have the surgery in one week.
I find if you don't eat anything, you are making things worse. Make sure to eat something, soup, oatmeal, cereal, but NO fat.
I hope this helps you somehow...I know how frustrating being in this position can be...altho there are possible side effects to surgery, there are possible dangers to NOT having the surgery as well. I wish the flush had been successful for me, but you know, it won't hurt you to try it. It really won't....
