Light, the main thing to do here, IMO, is to have confidence in the experience of others...especially those from whom you are buying nothing. That, to me, speaks volumes about the BC process that is talked about here b/c no one is trying to sell you the stuff you need to accomplish it. So the accounts you read are from real people having real experiences with this process and you should have confidence in that accounts...
In your case, I would start out with the regular BC suggestion of 1 P&B shake per day for a week or two, adding one shake per day over the course of a month and then work up to 3, which is when the process really starts to happen. It sounds like your colon may need to be strenghtened due to years of not pooping on a more regular basis. So, start out slowly and work your way up, just like is suggested here.
I believe this is the safest (and simplest) of all the cleanses talked about here. If you start out slowly and drink PLENTY OF WATER, you will do just fine. If you have trouble, simply discontinue it for a time or roll the amounts back somewhat. Once you get started, listen to what your body is telling you and you'll do fine.
Additionally, half you body weight in
ounces of water every day is a good place to start, but there is no reason not to drink more! To avoid constipation, make sure to drink about 10oz of water in ADDITION to the shake that you just took. Psyllium sets up like plaster of paris (ha ha) and if you are at all dehydrated, it will back you up. So the key is just to start and to drink plenty of water. Drink it all day long...!
You can do it...just get started and you'll be amazed at what happens and what you see in the shitter. It's still a mindboggling thing to me when I think back to when I was passing plaque like crazy.
