Yes as was Rome, the nation that accepted Christianity as its state religion. Do I need to list the other Christian nations that have crumbled under natural disasters and plagues? Why would a loving God torment the innocent along with those who were evil? I don't think the creator of te universe is a random murderer.

Lets look at the true islam though, not by dictator puppets.
When Jerusalem was happy and content it was the christian crusaders who came from a foreign land to invade jerusalams muslims who were minding their own business, who never killed anyone to get there, and had been living there peacefully not hurting anyone. It was the crusaders who came and the slaughter was such a shock to the native people, it was recorded blood was up to the waste and flowing like rivers in the city. Many buildings were destroyed, all places of worship destroyed.

When Saladin came to defend the land he did not touch one single church. Thats becuase the people have a choice. God gives man a choice to choose and since its holy to someone and they have a free will and choice to go there, a God given right, then it is a God given right to be left standing. There is nothing in Islam, you will find nothing where when the government was muslim that they destroyed ANY church or temple of ANY other religion. If the people did not want to join the army then they had the right to be protected by the army they chose not to join.

About covering, we know we see the Virgin Mary always covered, this is not mere decoration, this was from God. Does this mean the people of Jesus's day were raging maniacs drooling in the street? LOL Of course not! Does that mean all the nuns with habits are covered because those worhippers may get a little interested in Sister Joan? Of course not! Does it mean Mother Teresa did it because you know those south african men and children wow they dont have a handle on it? Perposterous! Does it mean where in the Bible it speaks of covering the head, every old lady in the church with a covering better do so because of the animalistic nature of men in attendance with her in church?
The Amish still cover, does it mean Amish men are savage bearded men who need to be controlled? Thats crazy! They do it because they believe its from God.

Now whatever reason God has ordained this, I think it is a test. But in Islam the same God is our God, there is only one God the God of Mary, the God of the Bible, the God of this Universe.
Modesty is a trait people take for granted. It is so easy not to be modest. It takes courage and strength to be modest and to be tender and caring your whole life to everybody. With covering, it is an inner trait not just an outer trait. YOu can be covered from head to toe and it wont mean anything if you are a prostitute under that habit or gown! It wont mean a thing. You can be uncovered with modest dress and a decent heart and help so many people by your actions with which you will be rewarded into paradise, after all even a smile to someone is considered charity in Islam.

Ok-
A woman can walk around naked and men should know, they dont have any right to touch her if she does not wish to be touched. She has a right not to be raped, even though she is completely naked of course!!
But the covering is not about controlling lusts!!!
It is about respect. Sometimes there are a few men ( and women ) who have a sickness in their hearts and will prey on certain situations. We hear it all the time everywhere! All the rapes and kidnappings ( who turn out to be close friends or even family) All the cases of incest, divorce rates, spousal abuse etc comes from lack of respect and modesty.

Like for instance its not proper for a young girl to dance around in her bikini in front of her father and his friends. Im talking a full figured daughter, a trial for these married men whose wives are older. Spiritually speaking its not in the best interest. She cannot marry these men she does not plan to and the wives wouldnt be too happy. Now add a little alcohol to the scene and some drugs, no respect, no modesty and you have the makings of an affair dangling in the eyes of these men. Come on! It happens ALL the time.

People dont want islam because they think they cant play the field anymore or have as many girlfriends as they want, etc. They want to drink, have fun, rock and roll, party, enjoy life!

Like I said before it is the persons choice what they do, its up to them and their creator.

About the skin receiving vitamin D, women have worked outside the home since Biblical days, and they covered, while fetching water, cleaning clothes at the river, planting seeds in the farm, shopping in the markets. If it was so unhealthy to wear a cover Jesus's mother wouldnt have and she is the best of created women in the entire world honored and blessed in this life as well as in the next.

There is nothing wrong with women taking off the scarves in gardens with fences, or infront of men whom they can't marry, their husbands, childrens' grown sons with wives and their grown sons, uncles, husbands father I think there is more.

And also its not like if the women dont cover there is a punishment for it! There is no punishment for this! That would be harsh! And im telling you if there was a punishment for it every woman might feel threatened to do it. I chose to do it and so did all my friends. We choose to do it, just as mother Teresa did. We both find it in our scriptures and want to be close to our Creator.

It creates harmony, no one is checking out that lady, inspecting a piece of meat.
And then there are people who have no care in the opposite sex, no attraction at all. God knows His creation. He is not saying men are not to be trusted far from it!
