This Web site has a terrific chart that makes it quite clear which foods are acid and which are alkaline. :) A good diet would be at least 70% from the alkaline side, 30% from the acid side.
Hmmmm... I was thinking portions/sight, not so much calories, altho calories could work because most alkaine foods are very low in calories. But going by sight/portions sure seems easier than actually counting calories! :)
